North Side Shootings Wound 2 Men, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings in the Avondale area left two men wounded on Thursday, police said.

• At 9:18 p.m., a 23-year-old man was in the 4100 block of West Wellington Avenue when someone pulled up in a car and fired shots at him, police said.

The man was hit in his groin and was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

• At 4:05 p.m., an 18-year-old man was in the 3300 block of North Ridgeway Avenue when a light-colored car pulled up and someone in the car fired shots at the man, police said.

The man was hit in his right arm and right armpit and was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The shooter drove away, police said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
