CHICAGO — Police have launched a homicide investigation after a man was found shot dead in Kenwood on Tuesday evening.
The victim was found unresponsive inside a building in the 5000 block of South Drexel Boulevard about 6:37 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. He had several "apparent gunshot wounds."
The man was identified as Deandre Smith, 28, of the 700 block of South Loomis Boulevard, by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. He was pronounced dead at 6:57 p.m.
No other information was immediately available Tuesday.
