Woman Punched In The Face By Carjackers In Hyde Park, Police Say

HYDE PARK — A woman was punched in the face and had her Jeep stolen Monday night in Hyde Park.

The woman was parking her car at 6 p.m. Monday on 54th Place between Drexel and Ingleside avenues when two people came up to her, implied they had a gun and said they were robbing her, according to University of Chicago police.

The woman tried to fight off the two people and was punched in the face, according to university police.

The two people then drove off in her red 2014 Jeep Wrangler south down Ellis Avenue.

The Chicago Police Department is investigating.
