CHICAGO — Jose Jimenez, 34, was shot to death in South Chicago on Wednesday night, officials said.
At 8:35 p.m., the man was driving in the 8800 block of South Houston Avenue when someone fired shots at him, police said. The man was hit multiple times in his left abdomen and continued driving until he got to the 9100 block of South Chicago Avenue, where he crashed through a wrought iron fence.
The man was taken to Northwestern Hospital, police said.
Jimenez, of suburban Evergreen Park, was pronounced dead at 9:20 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
No one was in custody.
