CHICAGO — Brandon Phipps, 30, died about one week after being shot in North Lawndale, police said.
At 9:15 a.m. May 19, Phipps was sitting in his car in the 3100 block of West 13th Street when someone got out of a car and fired shots at him, police said.
Phipps was hit twice in his left side and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Phipps, of the 1300 block of South Albany, was pronounced dead at 5:18 pm. Saturday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
No one was in custody.
