McKinley Park Hosting Huge Music Festival On June 21

CHICAGO — The McKinley Park Advisory Council will host musical performances in the park in conjunction with Make Music Chicago! on June 21 with three stages of music.

The event, which will run from 5-8 p.m., is free and open to the public.

Highlights will include a featured performance by Ragtime innovator, MacArthur Genius Grant Award Winner and McKinley Park resident Reginald Robinson in a rare solo performance at the McKinley Park Fieldhouse Veranda, 3700 S. Western Ave.

The schedule includes:

Field House Veranda

5-6 p.m.: Súbele, Latin-rock, hip hop, funk

7-7:30 p.m.: Joe Filisko & Eric Noden, roots duo, early blues

7:30-8 p.m.: Reginald Robinson, ragtime piano

McKinley Park Playground

5-5:30 p.m.: TEANEVA

5:45-6:30 p.m.: A Flor de Piel, Mexican music for the kids

6:30-7:30 p.m.: The Lucky Trikes, music and storytelling

7:30-8 p.m.: 168 Fitness Team, Chinese line dancing

McKinley Park Monument

5–6 p.m.: The Greenleaf Band, Bluegrass

6:15-7 p.m.: Harmonica Blowout with Joe Filisko, harmonica workshop — free harmonicas to the first 60 people, courtesy of Hohner Harmonicas

7:15-8 p.m.: Celebrate International Yoga Day with Celia!
