CHICAGO — Aquinas Literacy Center is moving to a new location in McKinley Park on July 1.

The new location at 1751 W. 35th St. offers "ample space in a more visible location, next door to the local elementary school," according to a news release.

Since 1996, the center has offered individualized instruction in English to the adult immigrant population of McKinley Park and surrounding areas including Bridgeport, Back of the Yards and Brighton Park.

Some 150 volunteer literacy tutors instruct 200 adult learners every year, the center said.

The center has launched a CrowdRise Fundraising campaign to raise money for the costly move and has already raised $2,000. To contribute to the fundraiser visit www.aquinasliteracycenter.org or mail a donation to Aquinas Literacy Center, 3540 S. Hermitage Ave., Chicago, IL 60609.
