WOODLAWN — A woman was carjacked after leaving Shrine of Christ the King in Woodlawn Tuesday night.

The 68-year-old woman was approached by two armed, masked men at 9:45 p.m. after leaving the shrine at 6400 S. Kimbark Ave., according to police. The men demanded her keys and drove off in her gray 2010 Toyota Corolla, leaving her uninjured, police said.

The woman,  a church parishioner, found her car and much of what was inside Wednesday , said Shrine of Christ the King Canon Matthew Talarico.

“Thank goodness no one was hurt and the car was recovered,” Talarico said. “The story has a happy ending as well as it could.”

Police said no one has been arrested for the carjacking, and detectives are investigating.
