Woman Drives Car Into Multiple People, Killing Naisha Weems: Officials

CHICAGO — A woman hit multiple people while driving Wednesday evening, killing another woman who was dragged underneath her vehicle, police said.

The incident occurred in the 300 block of North Latrobe Avenue in Austin at 5:06 p.m. after an argument.

During the argument, a 28-year-old got into a car and struck multiple people, including a 27-year-old woman who was dragged underneath the vehicle.

That woman was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, police said.

Naisha Weems, of the 1700 block of North Laramie, was pronounced dead at 8:35 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No arrests have been made and Chicago Police's Major Accidents division was investigating.

Police have labeled the incident as an aggravated battery and murder.
