WEST TOWN — Roughly two dozen people will gather over free lunch at West Town's Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art on Tuesday to discuss LGBTQ inclusivity in Chicago’s cultural institutions – and you are invited.
Scheduled for noon- 1 p.m. Tuesday at 756 N. Milwaukee Ave., Intuit’s roundtable conversation will be facilitated by professor, artist and filmmaker Dan Rybicky.
Rybicky will focus on what gay inclusiveness at cultural institutions looks like now, how it can improve and the role of art as inquiry. Attendees will be encouraged to share their experiences and solutions for overcoming barriers, according to event organizers.
The gathering is part of the Chicago Community Trust's "On the Table" series, which encourages Chicagoans to meet with people they might not know well and have "intimate, mealtime conversations about the issues that matter to them most."
The Tuesday event is open to the public, though registration is required and space is limited. You can RSVP by email here.
Last year, 55,000 people participated in On the Table, a spokeswoman said.
