Deangela Eaton, 25, was still hospitalized Monday afternoon for gunshot wounds sustained in the shootout, which happened about 2:25 p.m. in the 4600 block of West Maypole Avenue, according to police.

Eaton, of the 200 block of North Kenneth Avenue, was shot in her abdomen, knee and thigh, and was rushed to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

One officer on the scene was shot in his bulletproof vest, police said, while a second was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a nearby hospital.

Eaton is slated to appear in bond court May 22 on charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Supt. Eddie Johnson said during a Friday news conference that officers were looking for a second person from the shooting.
