West Town Businesses Hit By Same Burglar Twice In 2 Hours

CHICAGO — A thief hit two West Town-area businesses just hours apart last week, police said.

The thief damaged door locks and got into the businesses to burglarize them, police said.

The burglaries occurred:

• At 2:28 a.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of West Chicago Avenue

• Between 4:02 a.m. and 4:09 a.m. Thursday in the 1800 block of West Chicago Avenue

The thief was described as a black man who was 35-45 years old, 5-foot-9 to 6-feet tall and weighING 170-180 pounds, police said. He had a short hairstyle, a small mustache and wore a dark baseball cap with white writing, a black jacket, a light-colored shirt, light-colored pants and black boots and gloves.
