LOGAN SQUARE — A pair of Logan Square bars are hosting a market that will double as a fundraiser for Logan Bay, the Bridgeport DJ whose legs were crushed in a freak accident earlier this month.

The "Sauced" night market kicks off at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Emporium Logan Square, 2363 N. Milwaukee Ave., and neighboring Branca Bar, 2367 N. Milwaukee Ave., which are owned by the same people. It'll go until 11 p.m.

There will be food from chef Won Kim of Kimski, Nataly's Nectar, Hilton Cannery, Northern Lights Poutine, Velvet Desserts, Estrella Negra and Turbo Tiffin. Drinks will be prepared by Matt Frederick from EZ Inn.

Retail vendors include Powers Handcrafted Jewelry, Real Soaps bath and body products, Verdant Matter pottery, BoxBerry paper goods, Antwique furniture, Evil Eye Mercantile, HiFi Case and Practice Daily. DJ Gloria Vanderbilt will be there spinning records.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Bay, who was standing in front of his house unloading his car March 25 when a parked car lurched forward and pinned Bay between the two cars. After several surgeries, Bay's left foot and right leg were partially amputated.

Locals immediately started raising money for the Bridgeport resident through an online campaign to help pay for his extensive medical bills. As of Wednesday morning, the campaign had raised almost than $69,000.

Bay is station director at Lumpen Radio and also works at Co-Prosperity Sphere and Marz Brewing.

"He's really prolific," longtime friend Ed Marszewski previously said of Bay. "You know, he's facilitated so many activities, in Bridgeport especially, from after-school programs and a kids' annual fashion show to meeting with different artists. ... He's just a really sweet, amazing human being. He's just a huge force and the nicest guy on earth."
