CHICAGO — Fontaine Sanders, 19, died one day after being shot in North Lawndale this week.
At noon Monday, the 19-year-old and a 20-year-old man were in the 4300 block of West 15th Street when someone got out of a car and fired, police said.
The 19-year-old was hit in his head and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Sanders, of the 1500 block of South Pulaski Road, was pronounced dead at 2:59 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from a gunshot wound in his head in a homicide.
The 20-year-old man was hit in his arm and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.
