CHICAGO — Auburn Gresham has been hit by four carjackings since mid-March, police said.
During two of the robberies, the thieves took out guns and demanded the victims' property and cars, according to a Chicago Police community alert. In the other robberies, the thieves walked up and took the victims' property and cars by force.
The robberies occurred:
• 12:20 a.m. March 11 in the 8200 block of South Green Street
• 5:10 a.m. March 13 in the 8100 block of South May Street
• 5:55 a.m. March 24 in the 8500 block of south Carpenter Street
• 12:04 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of West 81st Street
The thieves were described as one to three black men who were 19-30 years old, 5-foot-7 to 6-foot-4 and weighed 150-175 pounds, police said.
