CHICAGO — A 51-year-old driver for a  ride-hailing service was beaten by his passengers after he had driven them around for hours early Monday, police said.

The driver picked up five men in the 1400 block of West 93rd Street in the Washington Heights neighborhood and drove them for three to four hours, police said.

When they returned to the pickup spot, two of the men hit the driver in the face. The driver accidentally hit the accelerator and crashed his car into a building in the 9300 block of South Laflin Street, police said.

The driver was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital with minor facial injuries, police said.

Four of the car passengers ran away. One of them was in custody and was taken to Roseland Hospital with minor injuries, police said.
