Lincoln Square, Uptown Robberies Prompt Police Warning

CHICAGO — Police are warning residents to be on alert after a series of violent robberies in Uptown and Lincoln Square recently.

In each case, a group of robbers walks up to victims, kicks and punches them and knocks them to the ground, police said. The attackers continue to beat the victims while they're on the ground as they rob them, police said.

The robberies occurred at:

• 1:10 a.m. March 7 in the 2700 block of West Lawrence

• 8:30 p.m. March 7 in the 4500 block of North Magnolia Street

• 5:30 a.m. March 11 in the 4500 block of North Broadway

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call detectives at 312-744-8263.
