HYDE PARK — Police are looking for three teenagers involved in a carjacking Saturday afternoon.

The University of Chicago Police Department sent out an alert after a man was beaten up by three teenagers and had his car stolen on Saturday.

He was walking to his parked car near 56th Street and Kimbark Avenue, near Ray Elementary School, when three teenagers came up to him and punched him until he dropped his keys.

The man said the boys grabbed his keys and drove south on Kimbark in his black Acura SUV. He refused medical attention.

The boys were described as between 16-18 years old, 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-9 inches tall and about 140 pounds. One of the boys was wearing a red baseball cap and red coat and the other two boys were wearing black coats, according to university police.

The Chicago Police Department is investigating and anyone with information about the alleged carjacking is asked to call Area Central Bureau of Detectives at 312-747-8382.
