CHICAGO — Ishmael Jackson, 23, was shot to death and another man wounded in Englewood on Saturday night, officials said.
At 10:44 p.m., the men were standing in the backyard of a home in the 5600 block of South Elizabeth Street when someone fired shots at them, police said.
The 23-year-old man was hit in his back and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
Jackson, of suburban Robbins, was pronounced dead at 11:51 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
A 27-year-old man was hit in his face and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
The men were documented gang members, a police source said.
No one was in custody.
