Cars Stolen In Lincoln Park After Owners Leave Keys Inside, Police Say

CHICAGO — Drivers are leaving keys in their cars — and the cars are getting stolen, police warned.

The robberies have occurred when owners left their keys inside the cars and thieves got in and stole the cars, according to a Chicago Police community alert.

The robberies occurred:

• 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 2 in the 2400 block of North Lincoln Avenue

• 4 p.m. March 5 in the 2400 block of North Lincoln Avenue

• 5:40 p.m. March 9 in the 500 block of West Deming Place

Police asked drivers not to leave their keys inside cars, look out for suspicious people who are loitering and tell neighbors about the crimes.
