NEAR NORTH SIDE — Extra patrols looking for drunk drivers will "saturate" some of Chicago's most bar-heavy neighborhoods during St. Patrick's Day, police say.

The patrols will start at 7 p.m. Friday and last until 3 a.m. Saturday in the police department's Near North district, an area that includes River North, Streeterville, the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park and Old Town.

Police say they'll also pay special attention to drivers speeding and not wearing seat belts.
