WEST RIDGE — Monday is the last day for business at Unique Thrift store's West Ridge location, a manager at the store said.

At 9 p.m., the 7530 N. Western Ave. location will close its doors for good, a decision made by Unique's parent company Savers, a manager told DNAinfo on Monday.

The popular discount store opened in July 2013 and sells everyday household items and clothing at bargain prices, and also includes a space for donation drop-offs.

The West Ridge location isn't Chicago's only Unique Thrift store, however it is the latest North Side location to close in the last year.

In July, the Uptown shop at 4445 N. Sheridan Road also shuttered abruptly

The store hasn't been free of controversy. In 2013, workers at the store began forming a union to fight for better pay and benefits.

According to its website, Unique still has four other locations in the city: 3748 N. Elston Ave. in Irving Park; 6560 W. Fullerton Ave. in Belmont Cragin; 3000 S. Halsted St. in Bridgeport; and 5040 S. Kedzie Ave. in Gage Park.
