PORTAGE PARK — Famed Chicago blues guitarist Lurrie Bell will stop by City News Cafe, 4018 N. Cicero Ave., for a free live performance starting at 6 p.m. Friday evening.

The set will kick off a weekend packed with live music at the cafe, with the "gypsy jazz" duet La Pompe coming at 2 p.m. Saturday, and jazz guitarists Marcos Rios and Jeff Silva lined up for 10 am. Sunday.

The hybrid newsstand, book shop and cafe has often held live weekend performances since its move into the Six Corners Shopping District nearly two decades ago.

Visitors can also pick up a box of barista Donna Kosiba's famous handmade chocolate truffles, which come in new rich flavors with every batch.
