CHICAGO — A 34-year-old man was stabbed on the Blue Line near the Jefferson Park Transit Center Saturday morning, police said.

Around 7:56 a.m., the man was riding on an inbound train when he began arguing with another man, according to police.

The argument "turned physical," and the 34-year-old man was stabbed in his right ankle, police said.

The suspect behind the stabbing got off the train at the transit center and ran away, police said. The 34-year-old was brought to Community First Hospital, where he was considered "stable."

No one was in custody, police said.
