CHICAGO — A garbage collector found the body of Diamond Turner, 21, while on the job in Grand Crossing on Friday, officials said.

At 12:25 p.m., the worker discovered the woman's body while dumping garbage in the 7300 block of South Kenwood Avenue, police said. The worker called 911.

Police launched a death investigation into the case. They said it was unknown how long the body was at the location it was found.

Turner, of the 7300 block of South Dorchester Avenue, was pronounced dead at 12:55 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
