Shooting Near Portage Park, Belmont Cragin Wounds 2 Men, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting near the border of Portage Park and Belmont Cragin wounded two men on Saturday morning, police said.

At 7:21 a.m., the two were in a car driving in the 3300 block of North Central Avenue when a dark-colored car pulled alongside them and someone inside fired shots, police said.

A 40-year-old man was hit n his right knee and a 38-year-old man was hit in his left knee, police said. They were taken to Community First Medical Center, where their conditions were not available but they were listed as "stable," police said.

The 40-year-old man is a documented gang member, a police source said.

No one was in custody.
