Logan Square Shooting Wounds Man, 24, Standing Outside, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Logan Square wounded a 24-year-old man on Monday night, police said.

At 7:07 p.m., the man was standing on the sidewalk in the 3500 block of West North Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

The man was hit in his back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

No one was in custody.

Earlier this month, shootings in Logan Square in one 24-hour period resulted in one person being killed and five others wounded. On Feb. 3, Carlos Fitz, 17, of the 5200 block of West George, was killed in the 3700 block of West Fullerton Avenue. A black, four-door call pulled alongside thecar Fitz was in and opened fire, police said.
