Dunning, Jefferson Park Burglaries Spur Police Warning

JEFFERSON PARK — Two separate clusters of home burglaries have been reported on the Far Northwest Side since Jan. 14, police said.

Within a small section of the Jefferson Park neighborhood, someone got into homes through their doors or windows, taking electronics, jewelry, cash and other items, according to an alert issued Saturday.

The burglaries occurred:

• Around 3 p.m. Jan. 14 in the 5800 block of North Medina Avenue

• Between 8:15 a.m.-8:45 p.m. Jan. 26 in the 5400 block of North Mulligan Avenue

• Between 4 p.m. Wednesday-1 a.m. Thursday in the 4800 block of North Mulligan Avenue

• Between 9 a.m.-4:37 p.m. Thursday in the 5500 block of North Melvina Avenue

• Between 12:30 p.m.-1:50 p.m. Thursday in the 6200 block of West Gregory Street

At least four other burglaries were reported in an area of Dunning, where someone broke into homes by forcibly kicking or prying open their doors, according to a Sunday alert.

Those burglaries occurred:

• At 6:15 p.m. Jan. 25 in the 3800 block of North Sayre Avenue

• At 3:06 p.m. Jan. 26 in the 6700 block of West Dakin Street

• Between 5:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Jan. 26 in the 3700 block of North New England Avenue

• At 7:10 a.m. Jan. 30 in the 3600 block of North Oak Park Avenue
