Shootings Kill 1 Person, Wound 4 On Tuesday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings killed one person and wounded four on Tuesday, police said.

• At 7:40 p.m., a 22-year-old man was found shot in Bronzeville. He later died from his wounds.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 6:20 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was in the 4900 block of West Ohio Street when someone walked up to him and fired shots.

The man was hit in his leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 10:10 a.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said. The man was walking in the 900 block of West 71st Street when he saw two teens or men and then heard gunshots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his groin and a finger on his right hand and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, police said.

The teens or men ran away, police said.

• At 9:04 a.m., a 26-year-old woman and 29-year-old man were shot in Brighton Park, police said. The two were in the 4400 block of South Campbell Avenue when the woman was shot in her left foot and the man was hit in his left leg.

The two took themselves to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

No further information was immediately available.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
