NORTH CENTER — Voting is open for residents and business owners in the 47th Ward to choose which infrastructure improvements they'd like to see completed in 2017.

Each alderman receives $1.32 million to spend on projects including alley resurfacing and sidewalk replacement, which range in cost from $10,000 to repair an alley apron to $83,000 per block for street light replacement.

In the 47th Ward, staff combines information from block audits, 311 data and service requests to compile a list of improvements for consideration.

Voting is open online through 11:59 p.m. Feb. 5. In addition to voting results, the 47th Ward staff will survey the ward's infrastructure for issues that may not have been identified by constituents.

Selected projects will be coordinated with the Chicago Department of Transportation, the Department of Water Management and other utilities.
