DOWNTOWN — It’s been a mild, relatively snow-free January — but that’ll change starting Wednesday night.

You’ll see a mix of rain and snowfall starting Wednesday night, said Charles Mott, a National Weather Service meteorologist. The rain should have turned to snow by 8 p.m., Mott said.

Less than 1 inch is expected to fall, Mott said, though there might be flurries later in the week.

Temperatures will also dip after Wednesday. Expect high temperatures in the low to mid-30s on Thursday, and they could fall to the mid-20s by Friday, Mott said. Saturday and Sunday will also see temperatures move between the mid-20s and 30s.

Those temperatures are close to normal, Mott said.

AccuWeather meteorologist Bob Smerbeck said the chilly weather could let up for a bit next week, though it’ll cool down toward the end of the week and over next weekend.

“Looks like we’re gonna get back to more seasonable conditions here …,” Smerbeck said.

The chillier temperatures could stick around “well into February,” according to an AccuWeather news release.
