CHICAGO — A 16-year-old boy was critically wounded in a Thursday shooting in East Side, police said.

At 6:04 p.m., the boy was in a car driving in the 11000 block of South Ewing Avenue when he was shot in his head and the car crashed into a tree, police said.

The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
