CHICAGO — A shooting in Hyde Park killed Robert Jones, 25, this week, officials said.
At 9:03 p.m. Tuesday, the man was standing on the sidewalk in the 5100 block of South Blackstone Avenue when he was shot by a man he was talking to, police said.
The victim was hit in his head and shoulders and taken to Northwestern Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Jones, of the same block where he was killed, was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
