CHICAGO — Expect delays during the Wednesday evening commute while two lanes of North Lake Shore Drive are out of service, the Chicago Department of Transportation said.

Employees are working "as quickly as possible" to remove a broken crane that is blocking two left lanes of southbound Lake Shore Drive, CDOT said. The two lanes are just south of North Avenue, at approximately 1400 N. Lake Shore Drive.

The crane was being use to perform maintenance work on the drive, CDOT said. Delays are expected throughout the evening rush, the organization said.
