CHICAGO — A shooting in Hermosa killed Deontae Nichols, 26, on Monday night, officials said.
At 7:44 p.m., officers responding to a report of a person shot found the man lying in the street in the 1600 block of North Keystone Avenue, police said. The man had been shot multiple times in his body and head.
The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Nichols, of the 4300 block of West Cortez, was pronounced dead at 8:20 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody.
