CHICAGO — Police in the Jefferson Park district will launch an operation to nab drunken drivers and other scofflaw motorists Friday night, police announced.
Starting at 7 p.m. Friday, the district will launch a "DUI saturation patrol" in which police will look for drunken drivers, speeders, people not wearing seatbelts and other violations, police said.
The patrol will last until 3 a.m. Saturday morning, police said.
A similar crackdown last weekend along Lake Shore Drive led to 32 total tickets being issued, including 18 for traffic violations and six for speeding, police said.
