DOWNTOWN — The weekend will be sunny and a little warmer — if you can struggle through the rest of this chilly week.

Temperatures have been low — and they've felt even lower — since Wednesday, and they won't get much better before the weekend. Friday will start off close to zero and only get as warm as 12 degrees, but it'll feel closer to 5 or 10 below zero, said AccuWeather meteorologist Tom Kines.

There "won't be a lot of wind blowing [Thursday], but when it gets this cold it doesn't take a whole lot ... to make it feel all that more miserable," Kines said.

Things will warm up for the weekend: Saturday and Sunday will hover around 20 degrees and both days will have "a lot of sunshine," Kines said. The nights will dip to the single digits, though.

Come Monday night the city will get hit with another bout of precipitation, which could come as snow, snow sleet, freezing rain or a mixture, Kines said.
