CHICAGO — A 22-year-old man was shot dead in West Humboldt Park on Christmas Day, police said.

At 1:45 p.m. Sunday, the man was in a vehicle in the 4400 block of West Chicago Avenue when someone in a black truck drove by and fired shots, police said.

He was hit multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

He was later identified as Jerry Thomas, of the 1200 block of South Kolin Avenue, by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Thomas was a documented gang member, a police source said.
