Meeting On Future Of Marvyille Academy Site Scheduled For January

UPTOWN — Ald. James Cappleman will host a community meeting to discuss the process and timeline of the luxury development slated for the Clarendon Montrose TIF district next month.

Earlier this month, construction crews began demolition on the former Cueno Hospital on the corner of Clarendon and Montrose Avenues.

"Asbestos removal is underway per City and EPA guidelines," Cappleman said in an email Thursday. "As with any building demolition that occurs in Chicago, there are many requirements placed on the landowner to ensure that the process is done correctly and in a safe manner so that area residents and their property remains protected."

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Clarendon Park Community Center, 4501 N. Clarendon Ave.
