Man Tried To Abduct Girl, 13, In Woodlawn, Police Say

CHICAGO — Police are warning Woodlawn residents to be on the lookout after an attempted child abduction in the area.

At 4 p.m. Monday, a man walked up to a 13-year-old girl in the 600 block of East 63rd Street and grabbed her from behind, police said.

She was able to get free and run to safety, police said. The man then ran off, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man with light complexion, between 20 and 30 years old and standing about 5-foot-4 with a medium build, police said.
