CHICAGO — O'Hare and Midway airports are seeing flights canceled due to a large weekend storm.
As of 10 a.m. Sunday, O'Hare had canceled 1217 flights and Midway had canceled 169, according to the Department of Aviation.
The storm was set to start about 6 p.m. and last until Sunday, leaving a possible 8-12 inches of snow in Chicago, experts said.
In a tweet, Midway said Southwest had canceled many Saturday night and Sunday morning flights preemptively.
The city warned of "extreme" snow and temperatures earlier in the day and advised travelers to check their airline's website for information about their flights.
