NORTH CENTER — Cubs World Series MVP Ben Zobrist is quickly earning a reputation as most valuable neighbor in North Center.
After the Cubs historic win in November, Zobrist spent hours meeting fans outside his St. Ben's home (see video below), and now he's donated a signed jersey to help raise funds for Jahn Elementary.
The authenticated home jersey, complete with "100 Years at Wrigley Field" commemorative patch, is among the items up for grabs as part of Friends of Jahn's North Pole Silent Auction.
Bids on the jersey, which started at $200, are being taken live on Facebook (make an offer in the comments section) through 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Lakeview Art Supply has agreed to give the winner 20 percent off the framing of the size 48 jersey — assuming the buyer isn't planning on personally suiting up for the Cubs.
