Edgewater Armed Robbery Leads To Charges For Man, 19, Police Say

CHICAGO — A man has been charged in an armed robbery in Edgewater, police said.

On Nov. 27, Javier Villalobos-Garcia walked up to a 21-year-old man in the 5800 block of North Ridge Avenue, pointed a gun at him and told the man to hand over his money, according to a Chicago Police news release. The man gave over his money and Villalobos-Garcia ran away, police said.

Villalobos-Garcia was identified, police said, and arrested on Wednesday in the 1400 block of West Elmdale Avenue.

Villalobos-Garcia, 19, has been charged with four counts of armed robbery, police said. He was scheduled to appear in bond court on Thursday.
