CHICAGO — Red Line trains were down Thursday morning because a woman got stuck between the platform and train, officials said.
At 8:11 a.m., a woman was getting off the train at 69th Street when she fell and became stuck between the platform and train, police said. Power was turned off and Chicago Fire officials got the woman out.
Trains were only moving between Howard and 55th during the emergency, according to a CTA news release. Shuttle buses were sent out so riders could get to affected areas, and the CTA advised riders that they could also take the No. 29 State bus.
Service was resumed later in the morning, though the CTA warned of delays.
The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where her condition was not available but she was listed as "stable," police said.
