CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was shot and wounded in Washington Park on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
At 1 p.m., the man was standing in the street in the 6000 block of South Prairie Avenue when a man walked up to him, demanded money and fired shots, police said.
The victim was hit in his right thigh and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
The shooter ran away and no one was in custody.
