Rickey King, 37, Killed In Garfield Park Shooting

CHICAGO — A 37-year-old man was gunned down Sunday afternoon in West Garfield Park, officials said.

Around 1:50 p.m., the man, identified as Rickey King, was standing with a group in the 3800 block of West Adams Street when someone standing across the street began firing at them, police said.

King was shot in his head and was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. Nobody else was hit, police said.

The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.

King, of the 8800 block of South Burley Avenue, was pronounced dead at 2:01 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died of a gunshot wound in his head in a homicide.
