ALBANY PARK — The best way to support the Albany Park Branch Library this weekend is to thin out your bookshelves and then fill them up again.

The Friends of the Library community organization is hosting its autumn used book sale Saturday and is accepting books and other media (CDs, DVDs, etc.) to hawk at the event. All proceeds from the sale will benefit programs and other needs at the Albany Park Library, 3401 W. Foster Ave.

Donations should be in gently used condition — if you wouldn't purchase it yourself, try recycling rather than re-gifting.

Items can be dropped off at the library either during the sale or regular hours: noon to 8 p.m. Thursday or 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

To arrange pickup for a larger donation, email friends.aplibrary@gmail.com.

The sale is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
