BRIDGEPORT — An 89-year-old neighborhood man who went missing on Saturday has been found.

Someone spotted Junming Kuange on the Near West Side and called Chicago Police. He was transported to the Deering District and reunited with his granddaughter.

Kuange had gone for a walk Saturday morning and never returned home.

Known to take slow strolls every Saturday, Kuange often walks as far as Chinatown before returning to his home in the 3200 block of South May Street, according to his family.

"He doesn't take any medication, but he has been getting forgetful as he is 89 years old," said Winnie Liu, Kuange's 24-year-old granddaughter.

Kuange, standing 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 100 pounds, was spotted Saturday in the lobby of a building at 540 N. Lakeshore Drive. He may have been on his way to Navy Pier, Liu said.

"The people who saw him at that point did not know that he was missing," said Deering District Cmdr. Daniel Godsel at a news conference Monday afternoon at the Chinatown Foot Clinic, 553 W. 31st St.
