CHICAGO — A shooting in Auburn Gresham killed Steven Hicks, 28, on Friday afternoon, officials said.
At 1:47 p.m., the man was walking in the 8900 block of South Parnell Avenue when two people in a red sedan drove by and fired shots at him, police said. The man was hit in his face, chest and hand.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The man was a documented gang member, police sources said.
The man was identified as Hicks, of the 8800 block of South Union Avenue, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. He was pronounced dead at 2:34 p.m.
No one was in custody.
