HYDE PARK — The DuSable Museum of African American history will be free on Sunday in honor of Margaret Burroughs' birthday.

The museum, 740 E. 56th Place, was founded in 1961 based on Burroughs’ work to include black history and culture in education.

To honor Burroughs, also a printmaker, artist Jessie Whitehead will lead a workshop on social justice printmaking from 1-3 p.m.

From 2-4 p.m., people are invited to make a birthday card for Burroughs, who died in 2010. She would have turned 101 on Sunday.

Birthday cake will be available for all visitors from 4-4:30 p.m.
